Canned Heat were always more than a festival curiosity, they were genuine scholars of the Delta and Chicago blues traditions, and that reverence shows throughout this 1970 set. Recorded just months before the tragic death of Alan Wilson, whose harmonica and falsetto defined the band's sound, it captures the group at a raw and searching moment, running deep cuts from Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf alongside originals with the loose authority of musicians who lived this music.
