Heath Fogg spent years as the quiet architectural force behind Alabama Shakes, the band whose raw, Southern-soaked sound made "Boys & Girls" one of the more electrifying debut statements of the 2010s. Stepping out front on his own, he draws on that same Muscle Shoals-adjacent emotional vocabulary while finding a more personal, unhurried register. The guests he chose are no accident; Tucker and Doores both carry deep roots music credibility that keeps this grounded in something real.
