Duane Allman's slide guitar and the twin-lead interplay with Dickey Betts defined a template that virtually every Southern rock and jam band since has had to reckon with. This collection traces the arc from the raw Macon, Georgia beginnings through the Fillmore East triumphs and the grief-shadowed years after Duane's and Berry Oakley's deaths, capturing a band that built its reputation as much on the road as in the studio.
