The Avett Brothers – Mignonette (2-LP Vinyl)
Product Details
Before they were filling theaters and festival stages, Scott and Seth Avett were refining a rawer, more confessional sound rooted in the Piedmont North Carolina folk and bluegrass tradition they grew up inside. Mignonette, originally released in 2004, captures that early honesty before the world caught up to them, twenty tracks that show exactly why this band built such a devoted following from the ground up.
Album adapted into a major Broadway show opening this fall
That pursuit of the truth is what inspired their latest project, "Mignonette." Mignonette" offers what the band calls ''a musical statement in honesty.'' The album title was inspired by an English tale about a 19th century sea captain who was severely punished because he couldn't help but tell the truth. The Avett Brothers hope an element of truth will be felt by everyone who hears the album; they believe its presence is the common thread of great music.
