Flowers was assembled specifically for the American market, giving US fans their first taste of tracks like "Ruby Tuesday" and "Lady Jane" that had appeared on UK albums not yet widely available stateside. The compilation format was a commercial necessity of the era, but the selection captures the Stones at their most melodically adventurous, bridging the rawer blues of their early years with the psychedelic currents swirling through 1967.

Remastered 1967 compilation essentially a hits package with a few then unreleased tracks. It was released in June during the Summer of Love close to when the Beatles put out Sgt. Pepper.
