Product Details

Before he became one of the architects of Outlaw Country, Waylon Jennings was cutting his teeth in Lubbock and Phoenix, absorbing rockabilly, honky tonk, and the lessons he learned playing bass for Buddy Holly in the late 1950s. That restless cross-genre hunger is audible in these early sides, which document a young artist still figuring out which rules he eventually planned to break.

The infamous country superstar Waylon Jennings performs his early hits (1958-65). These sides would go on to catapult his career in the Arizona music scene, leading to a residency at JD's nightclub. An interesting and eclectic mix of rock n' roll and country & western.
