Chicago's Billy Boy Arnold came up in the thick of it, learning directly from harmonica legend Sonny Boy Williamson and recording with Bo Diddley in the early 1950s before he'd barely turned twenty. His West Side blues harp style influenced generations of players on both sides of the Atlantic, yet his recorded output remained frustratingly sparse for decades. This 1993 Alligator release gave him a proper showcase long overdue.
