Ben Kweller – Sha Sha (CD)

Sha Sha arrived in 2002 as one of those records that felt genuinely homemade without ever sounding cheap, Kweller recording rough-hewn demos in his apartment that Atlantic ultimately released largely as-is. The Texas-born singer-songwriter had already earned his cult stripes fronting Radish as a teenager, but this solo debut captured something looser and more honest, the kind of bedroom pop that wore its Beatles and Elliott Smith influences on its sleeve without apology.
