Grant Green spent much of the early '60s as one of Blue Note's most prolific session players, lending his clean, single-note lines to records by Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan, and dozens of others before stepping fully into the spotlight himself. His guitar work sits at the intersection of hard bop and soul jazz, owing as much to Charlie Christian as to the church, and Street Of Dreams captures that voice at its most focused and unadorned.
