Product Details

Recorded in the same Montserrat and AIR Studios sessions that produced *Tug of War*, *Pipes of Peace* finds McCartney in a reflective, decidedly melodic mode, with George Martin returning to the producer's chair. The title track, built around the image of soldiers from opposing sides of World War I sharing a moment of humanity, stands as one of Paul's more earnest statements on peace, drawing from a real historical event that clearly meant something to him personally.

Paul McCartney - "Pipes Of Peace" [SHM-CD] Featuring songs initially recorded during sessions for the Tug of War album, Pipes of Peace continued Paul's rich vein of songwriting form. Released in 1983, it includes the massive hit duet with Michael Jackson, "Say Say Say," which spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The collaboration with Jackson - then the biggest star on the planet thanks to the success of his Thriller album - extended to another track, the breezy "The Man," Lyrically, the album features Paul's thoughts on love, peace and the future, centered around the symbol of the pipes of peace. SHM-CD (Super High Material) format featuring more clarity, depth and definition of sound. Includes miniature poster, inner-sleeve and booklet featuring Japanese translations of the lyrics. Capitol Music Group; Capitol; Rock; Catalog Remastered 2015. Limited Edition.
