Dylan's 1970 studio year was quietly one of his most restless and exploratory, as he cycled through country, folk, pop standards, and rock with a casualness that confused critics at the time but now reads as genuine artistic freedom. The nine tracks cut alongside George Harrison in May of that year have long been the stuff of bootleg legend, making their official release here a genuine event for anyone who has spent time hunting them down in the tape-trading underground.
‘1970’ includes 74 previously unreleased studio recordings from 1970, most taken from the sessions for the “New Morning” and “Self Portrait” albums. Also included are the nine songs from the legendary session with George Harrison.
