Liner Notes
The Cellar Door stand caught Young at a pivotal moment, just months after the release of *After the Gold Rush* and deep into the writing sessions that would become *Harvest*. These solo acoustic performances strip away everything but voice and piano or guitar, revealing the raw architecture of songs that would go on to define an era of American songwriting.
Live archive release from the veteran singer/songwriter, an album of unreleased live performances from late 1970. The album is the latest in Young's ongoing Archives Performance Series, and it collects recordings made during the Canadian singer/songwriter's intimate six-show solo stand at The Cellar Door, a venue in Washington D.C., between November 30th and December 2nd, 1970.
