Product Details

Hunter's role as the Dead's poet laureate is well established, but Tiger Rose showed he was no mere words-for-hire, delivering a full artistic vision rooted in American folk, country, and myth. Hearing Garcia in a producer's chair rather than a bandmate's role adds a fascinating layer to the collaboration, shaping the album's sound with the same intuitive touch he brought to his own solo work of the same era.

Two CD set. 50th anniversary edition of Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter's sophomore solo studio album, Tiger Rose. Originally released in March 1975, the Jerry Garcia-produced Tiger Rose features contributions from Garcia, Mickey Hart and Donna Jean Godchaux. The Tiger Rose 50th Anniversary (Deluxe Edition) has been remastered from the original analog tapes by Grammy Award-Winning Engineer David Glasser using Plangent Processes tape restoration and speed correction, and includes a bonus disc of previously unreleased alternate versions.
