Product Details

The 1974 pairing of Tom Jobim and Elis Regina was something of a cultural event in Brazil, two giants of MPB finally sharing a studio, with Elis's volcanic emotional range meeting Jobim's quietly devastating songwriting. Her interpretation of "Águas de Março" alone stands as one of the great vocal performances in the Brazilian canon, a reminder of what was lost when she died in 1982 at just 36.

Brazilians knew this was a classic since it's 1974 release, but U.S. audiences didn't even get to hear it 'til '89. Here's it's first remaster in 20 years: Corcovado; Triste; Aguas de Marco a Brazilian-pop gem full of melancholy beauty.
