Recorded in 1969 with producer Bill Szymczyk, "Completely Well" marked a turning point where King embraced orchestral strings and a more polished sound without sacrificing the raw emotional core that defined his playing. That gamble paid off: "The Thrill Is Gone" crossed over to pop audiences and earned King his first Grammy, introducing Lucille's voice to listeners who'd never set foot in a Chicago blues club.

This is King's original breakthrough album from 1969. Includes his biggest hit single and signature song, "The Thrill Is Gone," plus the R&B smash "So Excited" and many of the songs still featured in his concerts today.
