Tanya Donelly's songwriting instincts were already well-established before Belly, honed through her years with the Breeders and Throwing Muses, and that lineage runs through every track here. The rarities and B-sides on this collection fill in the gaps between *Star* and *King*, painting a fuller picture of a band that deserved a longer run.
Belly only came out with two albums before this collection, which is composed of rarities and b-sides. Although their output as a group was undervalued due to stiff competition from other mid-90s alternative rock bands, their music stands the test of time and this album is a swell accompaniment.
