Bloodstone occupied a fascinating middle ground in early-70s soul, blending smooth vocal harmonies with a raw funk undercurrent that set them apart from both the Motown polish and the harder edges of contemporaries like the Ohio Players. This recording was originally released on London Records in 1973 and has been out of print for many years. In addition to the R&B hit "Outside Woman," the release contains over an hour of music including rare bonus tracks drawn from B-sides and their elusive (British-produced) debut album.
