Recorded with Europe's first majority Black and ethnically diverse orchestra, this collaboration places Marley's songs back inside the pan-African spiritual tradition that always animated them, stripping away any notion that reggae and orchestral music occupy separate worlds. The Chineke! ensemble, founded in 2015, brings a shared sense of cultural inheritance to these arrangements that a more conventional symphony orchestra simply couldn't.
