Canned Heat arrived at the Kaleidoscope riding the momentum of Woodstock, where their set that August became one of the festival's most electrifying moments. The Los Angeles club was a home turf baptism for a band steeped in the Delta and Chicago traditions, and hearing Alan Wilson and Bob Hite work through the blues canon in that intimate setting captures something the studio records never quite could.

Just months after they broke through with "On the Road Again" and "Going up the Country," Canned Heat played this hot boogie 'n' blues set at the Kaleidscope in L.A.
