Product Details

Before arena rock hardened into formula, Chicago was doing something genuinely strange and ambitious: blending jazz-trained horns with rock muscle and pop songcraft in a way that earned them serious critical respect alongside massive commercial success. The band that emerged from late-1960s Chicago had legitimate jazz chops powering songs like "25 or 6 to 4" and "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?", and this expanded collection restores some of the depth that a 1975 hits package couldn't fully capture.

Chicago's first greatest hits collection, Chicago IX, was originally released in 1975. The chart-topping album collected the hit singles and fan favorite album cuts from their first eight studio recordings. In celebration of the album's 50th Anniversary, Chicago IX: Greatest Hits Expanded provides a 21 track expanded look at the legendary "Rock Band With Horns" top tracks from this period.
