Released in November 1969, "Willy and the Poor Boys" captured CCR at their commercial and creative peak, arriving between "Green River" and "Cosmo's Factory" in a run of albums that remains one of rock's most prolific stretches. The title track and "Down on the Corner" charted simultaneously, a rare feat that underscored just how locked-in John Fogerty and company were during that era.
