Recorded live at the Cal Expo Amphitheatre in Sacramento, CA on May 26, 1993, Grateful Dead – Road Trips Vol. 2 No. 4: Cal Expo ’93 captures the band’s late-era chemistry in full bloom. Released in September 2009, it presents a complete concert from a period often underappreciated, yet filled with energy, depth, and nuance.

The show opens strong with Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodleoo and rolls through a lively Tennessee Jed before closing the first set with The Music Never Stopped. Set two features a jubilant Help on the Way → Slipknot! → Franklin’s Tower and a moving run of Standing on the Moon → Throwing Stones → Not Fade Away before the encore of Liberty.

Performed by Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, and Vince Welnick. The mix and HDCD mastering bring a warm, clear presentation to one of the ’90s Dead’s standout performances.
