Recorded at the tail end of disco's commercial peak, *Monster* caught Hancock deep in his pop-crossover phase, the same restless experimentation that had already taken him from Blue Note hard bop to Headhunters funk. The expanded bonus tracks on this reissue flesh out sessions that largely flew under the radar of his jazz faithful at the time, making it a more complete document of a genuinely underexplored corner of his catalog.

Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1980 album including nine bonus tracks. Monster is the 29th album by pianist Hancock. As a follow-up to the Feets album, it avoided jazz and funk in favor of disco. Includes musical assistance from Carlos Santana, Freddie Washington, Sheila E, Bill Champlin and many others.
