Product Details
The transition from Mike Bloomfield to Elvin Bishop could have fractured lesser bands, but the Butterfield outfit absorbed the shift and came out swinging, with Bishop's rawer, earthier approach giving the 1967 record a grittier Chicago soul feel. Tracks like "Get Out of My Life, Woman" show a band still locked into something visceral and real, at a moment when the blues revival they helped spark was reshaping American rock.
Butterfield's highest-charting album was also one of his best, with Elvin Bishop (a.k.a. Pigboy Crabshaw) taking over on lead guitar from Mike Bloomfield.
