Captured during the massive A Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, this was Pink Floyd's first official live release since 1977's "In Concert" recordings, arriving at a moment when David Gilmour had rebuilt the band following Roger Waters' acrimonious 1985 departure. The Nassau Coliseum performances drew from across the catalog, reminding a new generation why the lights, the circular screen, and that guitar tone were worth traveling miles to witness.

Digipak reissue of this two CD 1988 live album from the British rock legends. Delicate Sound of Thunder was recorded over five nights at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, New York in August 1988 and mixed at Abbey Road Studios in September 1988. It was released in November 1988, through EMI Records in the United Kingdom and Columbia Records in the United States.
