Recorded in the summer of 1969 as the band's final studio sessions together, Abbey Road captured four musicians who had largely stopped touring finding new ways to push each other in the studio. The medley that closes Side Two remains one of rock's great communal listening experiences, a suite of unfinished fragments woven into something none of them could have made alone.
The new Abbey Roadrelease features thenew stereo album mix, sourced directly from the original eight-track session tapes. To produce the mix, Giles Martin working with Sam Okell, was guided by the album’s original stereo mix supervised by his father, George Martin.
