Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney recorded Magic Potion entirely on their own, self-producing the album and doubling down on the bare-bones, two-piece blues-rock aesthetic they'd been honing in Akron since the early 2000s. By 2006, the Keys were building a devoted following on the strength of relentless touring, and this record captured that road-worn intensity in the grooves.

Ohio duo The Black Keys release their fourth album MAGIC POTION which is full of compelling, hurt-beyond-their-years vocals, lead guitar that is wildly expressive and utterly succinct, with anchoring drums that creates a melody and rhythm that meshes into a force that's raw and pure.
