Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore recorded six studio albums between 1967 and 1971, a remarkably compressed run that nonetheless reshaped the boundaries of rock and roll. The Los Angeles quartet drew equally from blues, jazz, poetry, and psychedelia, and Morrison's literary ambitions gave their catalog a dark, theatrical weight that set them apart from their contemporaries. These 40th anniversary remixes offer the closest thing to hearing these recordings as Botnick and the band originally intended.
