The Pharcyde – Labcabincalifornia (CD)

Labcabincalifornia arrived in 1995 as the Los Angeles collective's sophomore effort, a more introspective and sonically layered follow-up to their breakout debut, produced largely by J-Dilla in one of his earliest major production credits. The Pharcyde's willingness to push into stranger, more vulnerable territory set them apart from coastal rap's harder edges at the time, and the album's reputation has only grown in the decades since.
