The Who – Quadrophenia (2-CD)
Product Details
Pete Townshend conceived Quadrophenia as a double album with four distinct musical themes, each representing a different facet of protagonist Jimmy's fractured personality, and mapped those themes to the four members of the band itself. The 1973 release cemented the Who's ambitions as rock's most compelling storytellers, drawing on mod culture and the rain-soaked streets of Brighton to build something far more personal than Tommy ever was.
Originally released in 1973, Quadrophenia reached #2 on the Billboard album chart and introduced such Who classics as "The Real Me" and "Love Reign O'er Me." This reissue, besides featuring superior digital remastering, includes (for the 1st time since it's original release) the entire original booklet with full liner notes, libretto, photos and graphics. June this year marks the first time ever Quadrophenia will be performed in it's entirety, when the 3 surviving members of The Who reunite to perform at the Prince's Trust.
