Product Details
Organized in Cleveland in the 1930s by Glynn Settles, the Wings Over Jordan Choir became one of the first Black gospel groups to reach a national radio audience, their Sunday broadcasts on CBS carrying the jubilee tradition into living rooms across America. This collection draws from that deep well of congregational singing, shaped-note harmony, and spiritual testimony that predates the gospel-pop crossover and connects directly to the church music of the Jim Crow South.
