Liner Notes
April 1978 found the Grateful Dead in one of their most fertile periods, the year after Keith and Donna Godchaux's final stretch with the band and deep into a run of shows that longtime fans regard as some of the most adventurous of the era. Duke University was a regular stop on the spring touring circuit, and the performances captured here reflect a band pushing their improvisational language to its limits, night after night.
Three CDs. DUKE '78 is the worldwide retail breakout from The Grateful Dead's limited-edition, dead. Net exclusive boxed set, Friend Of The Devils: April 1978.
