Pressed on limited edition red splatter vinyl, Strike Up The Band marks Little Feat's triumphant return to rock 'n' roll—their first studio album of new original material in twelve years, released May 2025. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Vance Powell (Phish, Chris Stapleton, Jack White) and co-produced by founding member Bill Payne, this double LP showcases the current six-piece lineup delivering swampy southern soul across 13 tracks spread over four sides of wax.

The album demonstrates that Little Feat remains a genuine article rather than a nostalgia act. Shipwrecks features an unexpectedly delightful synth break from Payne echoing the band's fusion-influenced peak, while Powell's production accentuates kernels of Sam Clayton's percussion as nimbly as it showcases Scott Sharrard and Fred Tackett's tantalizing, muscular guitars. The title track features Larkin Poe on guest vocals, and Bluegrass Pines—co-written by Payne with the late Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter—brings Molly Tuttle and Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams into the fold.

This red splatter pressing captures the energy of a band still operating at peak powers despite fifty-six years of history. Like 1988's Let It Roll, Strike Up The Band serves as a reintroduction—proof that Little Feat's unique blend of rock, New Orleans funk, jazz, and blues remains not only intact but vital. The double vinyl format gives these songs room to breathe with analog warmth that matches the organic performances.

2-LP Red Splatter Vinyl: Limited edition colored pressing. 13 tracks across four sides. Produced by Vance Powell and Bill Payne.
