Wayne Shorter – Footprints Live (2-LP Vinyl)
Product Details
Wayne Shorter spent decades reshaping jazz from the inside, first as the harmonic conscience of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, then as a cornerstone of Miles Davis's second great quintet, and later as a co-founder of Weather Report. The quartet he assembled around 2001 with Perez, Patitucci, and Blade became one of the most celebrated small groups in jazz's post-fusion era, known for collective improvisation that treated every performance as genuinely unrepeatable.
Wayne Shorter -"Footprints Live (Verve By Request Series)" / This live album (released on vinyl for the first time) is made up of 3 European dates in 2001 and introduced Shorter's "Footprint Quartet" - pianist Danilo Perez, bassist John Patitucci and drummer Brian Blade. All are in top form, especially on challenging reimaginations of the title track and "Masquelero," both from his time with the 1960's Miles Davis Quintet. Verve By Request Series features transfers from the analog tapes remastered on 180-gram vinyl.
