The Dead - February/March 2009 Relix Issue
The February/March 2009 Relix issue features our The Dead cover story and more! After five years and countless gigs with their other bands, the four surviving members of The Grateful Dead reconvened in October 2008 to help elect Barack Obama. On the eve of an eagerly anticipated arena tour, the stars of the jamband scene paired up with the band's members to find out what's new, what's old and what we can expect from this latest reunion. After nearly five years of exploring their individual music endeavors, the remaining four members of the Grateful Dead reunite to once again let the music play. We asked three like-minded musicians—Dave Schools from Widespread Panic, Keller Williams and Billy Martin from Medeski Martin and Wood—to interview the individual members for a deep understanding of what this new tour means.
This issue also includes articles and features on The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Animal Collective, Kelly Slater, M. Ward, Thievery Corporation, Taj Mahal, Tom Marshall of Phish, Umphrey’s McGee, Boz Scaggs, Everest, Derek Trucks, and more!
