John Hiatt has spent five decades writing songs that other artists desperately wish they'd written first, with cuts like "Thing Called Love" and "Have a Little Faith in Me" becoming standards long before most listeners traced them back to him. This 2011 release finds him leaning hard into the gritty, road-worn side of his catalog, the kind of record that sounds like it was built for smoky rooms and late nights rather than radio playlists.

Produced by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley (Silverchair, Aerosmith, Joe Bonamassa), Hiatt's timeless songwriting is paired with the aggressive blues guitar. Hiatt is back in the studio with his touring combo (Kenny Blevins on drums, Patrick O'Hearn on bass and Doug Lancio on guitars). The first single is "Damn This Town."
