Klaus Nomi – Nomi (4-LP Vinyl Box Set)
Product Details
Klaus Nomi remains one of the most singular figures to emerge from the late-70s New York underground, a countertenor who moved between Weimar cabaret, opera, and new wave with complete conviction. His appearances at Klaus Nomi night at New York's Wave club, and his two televised performances backing David Bowie on Saturday Night Live in 1979, brought his otherworldly stage persona to a mass audience before his death in 1983, one of the earliest high-profile losses to the AIDS crisis.
Four LP set at a special price - Contains the studio albums Klaus Nomi and Simple Man, the live In Concert, and the collection Encore Bavarian born Klaus Sperber emigrated to New York City in 1972, and soon became a staple in the East Village art scene, adopting the new last name of Nomi (fashioned after the popular science magazine Omni). In Concert (recorded at NYC's Hurrah club in 1979) arrived in 1986, containing Nomi's version of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love." All four albums are now available together, packaged in a slipcase with the iconic Nomi logo, at a very special price.
