Sheffield's Fon Studios was ground zero for a particular strain of British electronic experimentation in the late '80s and early '90s, and Art Of Noise's involvement in that ecosystem made perfect sense for a group that had already rewired pop's relationship with sampling and found sound. These mixes sit at the intersection of the band's avant-garde instincts and the rawer, club-facing energy bubbling up from the UK's post-acid house underground.

The Fon Mixes are a diverse techno collection remixed at the legendary Fon Studios in Sheffield, England. This album features early work from the Prodigy, LFO, Youth and Graham Massey of 808 State, highlighting the emerging rave culture which has crossed the Atlantic and permeated America.
