Andrew Savage and Austin Brown formed Parquet Courts in Brooklyn after relocating from Texas, and that friction between place, identity, and restlessness pulses through everything they make. Human Performance arrived after a period of relentless output and touring that sharpened the band into something leaner and more emotionally exposed than their earlier work, with Savage's lyrical eye for urban alienation hitting its most personal register yet.
