The Revivalists – Take Good Care (LP Vinyl)
The Revivalists' third major label release cemented the New Orleans octet's position as festival headliners and Adult Alternative radio dominators, spawning back-to-back number one hits with Change and All My Friends. Produced by Dave Cobb alongside Andrew Dawson and Dave Bassett, Take Good Care followed the breakthrough Wish I Knew You single from 2015's Men Amongst Mountains, delivering what Relix described as a high-energy, seamless blend of soulful, horn-abetted rock-and-roll and post-Black Keys garage-blues.
The eight-piece ensemble—David Shaw commanding vocals, Zack Feinberg on guitar, Ed Williams adding pedal steel texture, Rob Ingraham's saxophone, and a rhythm section built for marathon festival sets—had already sold out Red Rocks and the Beacon Theatre before opening for the Rolling Stones. Take Good Care proved their arena ambitions weren't misplaced. The album cracked the Alternative Top 10 while reaching number 78 on the US charts, demonstrating crossover appeal that transcended genre boundaries.
Relix's extensive 2019 coverage dubbed The Revivalists' sound as simply festival—music designed for collective celebration under open skies. For fans of Nathaniel Rateliff's blue-eyed soul, Marcus King's Southern rock revival, and the horn-driven energy of classic Stax recordings, Take Good Care delivers the goods with polished production that never sacrifices the band's raw live energy.
LP Vinyl. Released November 2018 via Loma Vista. Produced by Dave Cobb. Features number one hits Change and All My Friends.
