Pressed on triple 180g vinyl in a triple gatefold jacket, Chain Yer Dragon is Goose's fifth studio album and their second release of 2025, following April's Everything Must Go. The Connecticut-based quartet—Rick Mitarotonda (guitar/vocals), Peter Anspach (guitar/keys/vocals), Trevor Weekz (bass), and Cotter Ellis (drums)—produced the record with D. James Goodwin at Dreamland Studios in Hurley, NY, capturing a sound that is raw, freewheeling, and deeply lived-in.
The album serves as connective tissue between Goose's earliest songwriting and their current evolution as a four-piece. Drawing on characters and locales—Lazy, The Night Rays Band, the Rockdale barroom—that date back to Mitarotonda and Matt Campbell's pre-Goose collaborations circa 2011, Chain Yer Dragon expands and deepens that world with new tracks like "Madalena" and "Royal" alongside beloved live staples like "Echo of a Rose," "The Empress of Organos," and "Factory Fiction." The result is a cohesive yet non-linear story that pushes Goose's catalog forward while embracing its roots.
Spread across six vinyl sides, the 3-LP format gives the album room to breathe and develop naturally. The standard black pressing is limited to a first pressing of 9,000 units, with Side F featuring silkscreened vinyl.
