Lifted from *Bringing It All Back Home* and released as Dylan's first charting single in early 1965, "Subterranean Homesick Blues" announced a seismic shift, beat poetry colliding with electric rock and roll in a way that genuinely caught radio off guard. The promotional film clip, shot in an alley off Savile Row with Allen Ginsberg lurking in the background, predated the music video era by a decade.
