Product Details

New York's Chavez made a ferocious case for heavy, technically precise guitar rock in the mid-90s, with Matt Sweeney and Clay Tarver wielding interlocking riffs that drew comparisons to Mission of Burma and Slint while remaining entirely their own. Gone Glimmering landed in 1995 on Matador at a moment when the label was redefining what independent rock could sound like, and the album's reputation has only grown in the decades since its original release.

Gone Glimmering, the debut album from Chavez, is back in print and expanded to include the tracks from the band's Pentagram Ring EP on vinyl for the first time. The double LP features a gatefold sleeve and new artwork. Part of Matador's ongoing Revisionist History series that includes releases from Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Guided By Voices and many more, the reissue will be accompanied by archival music videos, never-before-seen clips and newly recorded interviews with Chavez's Matt Sweeney and Clay Tarver.01 NAILED TO THE BLANK SPOT 02 BREAK UP YOUR BAND03 LAUGH TRACK04 THE GHOST BY THE SEA05 PENTAGRAM RING06 PEELED OUT TOO LATE 07 THE FLAMING GONG 08 WAKEMAN'S AIR09 RELAXED FIT10 THE NERVE11 YOU FADED12 HACK THE SIDES AWAY 13 REPEAT THE ENDING
