Nicolas Jaar was already rewriting the rules of minimal electronic music when he and guitarist Dave Harrington began developing the Darkside project, road-testing these songs in live settings before committing them to tape. *Psychic* arrived in 2013 as one of the more singular debut full-lengths of that decade, a record that found common ground between motorik groove, late-night jazz atmosphere, and kosmische drift without ever feeling like an exercise in influence-spotting.
Darkside is the collaborative duo of critically acclaimed electronic artist Nicolas Jaar and guitarist/composer Dave Harrington. Darkside summon a hybrid of electronic music, psychedelic rock, and dance floor techno with the sort of artistic depth and breadth for which the term "progressive" was coined.
