Recorded at Lindsey Buckingham's home studio and Village Recorders in Los Angeles, Tusk found Fleetwood Mac deliberately resisting the blockbuster expectations that followed Rumours, with Buckingham pushing the band toward something rawer and more experimental. The title track famously featured the USC Trojans Marching Band, a genuinely strange choice that signaled just how far Buckingham was willing to stray from the formula.
Fleetwood Mac’s legendary album Tusk, originally released in Oct. 1979, went on to sell 4 million copies WW and was certified Gold in Germany and France, Platinum in the UK, Netherlands and New Zealand and 2X Platinum in the US.
