Jay Kay arrived fully formed in 1993, a 23-year-old Londoner with a buffalo hat, a Fender Rhodes obsession, and an acid jazz scene hungry for exactly what he was selling. Emergency On Planet Earth landed at a moment when British funk was reclaiming its own identity, drawing as much from Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield as from the Brixton clubs where Jamiroquai cut their teeth.

To celebrate 30 years since the formation of the record breaking Funk-Soul band Jamiroquai and their first single ‘When You Gonna Learn’ this special transparent 180g heavyweight double vinyl edition of their ground-breaking (1993) debut album Emergency On Planet Earth is being made available.  Presented in a gatefold sleeve with spot gloss embellishments, printed inner sleeves and 12” insert featuring Jay Kay’s 2013 and 2017 liner notes.
