Recorded in the same year he stopped Woodstock cold with his convulsing, transcendent take on "With a Little Help from My Friends," Joe Cocker arrived on this 1969 album as one of rock's most compelling voices, a Sheffield soul man who could locate the emotional core of any song handed to him. Leon Russell's fingerprints are all over this record as arranger and collaborator, a creative partnership that would soon hit the road for the legendary Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour.

Originally released in November 1969, the gold-certified album features stellar interpretations of "Dear Landlord" (Bob Dylan), "Something" (George Harrison), and "Delta Lady" (Leon Russell).
