Miles Davis – On the Corner (CD)

When *On the Corner* dropped in 1972, the jazz establishment largely rejected it, while funk and hip-hop communities hadn't yet caught up to what Miles was doing. Decades later, its dense, rhythm-driven grooves, drawing on Sly Stone, James Brown, and Stockhausen simultaneously, sound less like jazz fusion and more like the blueprint for entire genres that followed.
