Recorded with producer Paul Epworth, Delta marked a significant sonic shift for the London band, trading in the banjos and stomping folk arrangements that defined their early work for expansive, atmospheric rock textures. The album takes its name from the mathematical symbol for change, a fitting title for a record that found Marcus Mumford and company deliberately pushing into new emotional and sonic territory.
