Product Details

Recorded in two weeks with Steve Albini in 1988, Surfer Rosa established the quiet-loud-quiet blueprint that Kurt Cobain openly credited as a primary influence on Nevermind. Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering arrived here fully formed, savage and strange, with "Gigantic" and "Where Is My Mind?" already sounding like transmissions from some parallel rock universe.

Deluxe 180 gram vinyl re-issues. To date, "Come on Pilgrim" has scanned 147k, "Surfer Rosa" 470k, and "Doolittle" 596k. Look for the band on tour from September through December, and check them out on the cover of Spin's September issue. Best of CD and DVD were released in May 2004.
